About Our Trips
Service. Spring Break. Latin America.
For our trips, we partner with local service organizations around Latin America which emphasize participant learning, community impact, and fun! You can expect a mix of service projects, engaging with community members, and exploring the area on all of our trips.

2020 Dates: Trips will run during Vanderbilt spring break from February 29 through March 7/8.
​
Trip Costs: Each trip will cost between $1,000 to $1,700. However, we have generous financial aid available and will work with you to make Manna happen.

Guatemala: Fair Trade Coffee
Issues Areas: Workers' rights, fair labor, sustainable business, and conscious consumerism.
De La Gente offers amazing service opportunities with the community in San Miguel Escobar. As a center for growing coffee, participants will work with local farmers to learn the trade and help with the coffee making process. Activities will also include construction projects, hiking volcanoes to help pick coffee, artisan workshops, and eating meals with locals in the community.

Ecuador: Community Development
Issue Areas: Education, healthy eating, agriculture, business, and the environment.
One of Manna's current permanent international sites! At this location, you will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of community development. From teaching English classes to local business owners, to developing healthy eating plans with a high-risk diabetes communities, to promoting literacy at all ages, this trip can be catered to the group's exact interests.

Belize: Rehabilitation
Issue Areas: Mental health, rehabilitation.
Passionate about mental health? Lead a trip with the Belize Project! With this organization, you will learn about the different impacts of substance-abuse on communities and support them in fighting this disease. Impact projects include constructing a new house for a women’s group that supports single and abused Belizean women, working with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, and working alongside patients at Jacob’s Farm, the country's only drug and alcohol rehabilitation farm in a rural village called Patchakan. This trip also includes the weekend flight to San Pedro Beach for a day.

Belize: Business
Issue Areas: Small businesses, entrepreneurship, and micro-financing.
Interested in promoting small businesses and entrepreneurs? Lead a trip with The Belize Project! With this organization, you will work to empower local business owners. Participants will be interviewing potential microloan recipients, working in small businesses or on farms alongside current loan recipients, and helping educate rural communities about entrepreneurship and business strategy. The trip also concludes with a weekend at a beach resort
